Letter: Senators should stop bashing Trump, do their job

To the editor,

U.S. Senators Christopher Murphy, D-Conn., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., do not represent me. They are doing everything in their power to destroy the presidency of Donald Trump. Their hatred is evident. I do not recall President Obama receiving such abuse from Republicans.

Daily, the Connecticut senators are pictured in newspapers or on television defending illegal aliens, sanctuary cities or our super liberal governor. I have no pity for illegals who have been in this country for 20 years and failed to get citizenship. They whine when they get caught and face deportation.

The recently released House Intelligence classified memo shows that the FBI relied on anti-Trump resources funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign in seeking a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign. As expected, senators Blumenthal and Murphy are trying to discredit the memo claiming that it disrupts the Robert Mueller investigation of Trump.

I am sick of the dirty political football and would like our senators to stop bashing Trump and get back to Washington and the job for which they were elected. Our senators do not represent me or the state of Connecticut. They represent the Democratic Party.

In the next election I hope that the people of our great state will be wise enough to choose legislators who will truly speak for the majority.
