NAUGATUCK — Edna (Strever) Talmadge, 94, of Naugatuck, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 at Beacon Brook Health Care Center of Naugatuck. She was the wife of the late Harry William Talmadge, Jr.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1923 in New Haven, daughter of the late Stanley William and Emma (Smith) Strever. In her early years she worked at Waterbury Button and U.S. Time. She married Harry “Bud” Talmadge in 1950. He developed his own business and Edna became the secretary at Ta*la Bal Company. When her husband passed away in 1977, she sold the business and went to work at Veam in Watertown, and worked there until her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters, Gwenn Fischer and husband, George B., of Prospect, and Deborah Talmadge of Woodbury; five grandsons, Timothy Behlman, Matthew Behlman, Robert LeBlanc, Benjamin LeBlanc and Michael LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Madilynn, Emma Behlman and Colby Behlman, one niece and one nephew.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles and Henry Arthur Strever.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
