NAUGATUCK — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two men whom they say used counterfeit $100 bills to purchase two bottles of liquor from Fine Wine and Liquor on Meadow Street Nov. 11.

The store employee who took the money didn’t spot the counterfeit until the men left, according to police Capt. Steven Hunt.

He said it is the only instance of counterfeit money turning up in Naugatuck recently.

Anyone with information about the identity of the two men in the photo should contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221 or the Confidential Tip Line at 203-720-1010.
