REGION 16 — The Region 16 Board of Education last week unanimously voted to hire Stephen Martoni as the district’s new director of facilities.
Martoni has been the acting director of facilities in the region, which oversees schools in Beacon Falls and Prospect, since February. From 2001 until February, Martoni was a maintenance technician in the region.
Martoni’s contract runs through June 30, 2020. Hs salary is $75,500, which is prorated from Sept. 28 through June 30, 2018, according to his contract. He will also receive a $3,000 annuity payment in each year of the contract. His salary over the final two years of the contract will be determined prior to the start of each fiscal year.
Martoni, who lives in Oakville, graduated from Emmett O’Brien Technical High School in 1992.
