BEACON FALLS — The town is looking to overhaul its permitting process to streamline it and make sure fees are “in line with the 21st century,” First Selectman Christopher Bielik said.

“Some have not moved $1 in either direction since they were written,” he said.

He said he’s asking town land use boards, the Water Pollution Control Authority and other town departments that charge fees for permits to make recommendations to the Board of Selectmen.

“The ball is rolling,” Bielik said. “I think we have a good path forward to make a standardized process.”
