WATERBURY — Robert “Bob” V. Shove, 95, husband of the late Anna Mae (Cipriano) Shove, passed away on Sept. 21, 2017 at Waterbury Gardens surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born on Jan. 6, 1922 in Waterbury, a son of the late George and Clara (Thompson) Shove. He attended Saints Peter and Paul School and graduated from Wilby High School. In 1942, Bob joined the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of corporal. He served overseas in the 716th tank battalion as a gunner. When he returned home Bob worked for Scovill Manufacturing Co. as a foreman. Bob and his beloved wife, Anna Mae, were married on Sept. 20, 1958. Bob loved sports and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, New England Patriots, UConn women’s basketball, and golf.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert Shove and Pamela Shove; his grandchildren, Kristin, Amber, John, Richard, Brittany, and Savannah; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Aidan, Jonathan, and Cristian. Bob now goes to join his parents; wife, Anna Mae, three brothers, one sister, and daughter Ann Shove-McDermott.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
