NAUGATUCK — LeRoy A. Gerard, 81, formerly of 53 Conrad Street, passed away peacefully at Beacon Brook Health Center on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017.
He was born in Caswell, Maine, on April 1, 1936, son of the late Ludger and Marie (Cote) Gerard. He resided in Naugatuck for many years, and proudly served his country in the United States Marines. LeRoy was an avid softball player during his youth, and he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He had also coached for many years the Youth Flag Football League in Thomaston.
He is survived by his sons, Lee, David (Lisa), Bruce (Kim), Daniel, and Kenneth (Leah) Gerard; his brother, David (Theresa) Gerard; his sister, Vivian (Graham) Deichmann; his four grandchildren; his great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the many devoted caregivers who watched over Leroy in his later years.
All services will be private. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
