NAUGATUCK — Carolyn K. (Karbowicz) Marinaro, 78, beloved wife of Ernest J. Marinaro, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at Waterbury Hospital.
She was born on July 6, 1939 in Naugatuck, daughter of the late Matthew and Felicia (Mayeran) Karbowicz. A lifelong Naugatuck resident, Carolyn graduated from Naugatuck High School in 1957 and retired from Bristol Babcock after 47 years of service. During her younger years, she was a gifted athlete and participated on many sports teams. She enjoyed many trips to the casino and summers in Wildwood, N.J. Carolyn was also an avid Yankee fan.
Besides her husband Ernest of 52 years, she leaves her brother, Jack Karbowicz of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, followed by a celebration of her life at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
