WATERBURY — Amelia “Millie” Lauer, 98, of Waterbury, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017. Born in Watertown, to the late Peter and Helen (Blanner) Phillips, Millie graduated from Naugatuck High School and was a longtime resident of Waterbury.

Millie was a dedicated employee at the Timex Corporation for many years. As one of the first female tool setters, she was truly a pioneer in her time. In her retirement she enjoyed cooking, reading, vacationing in Florida, and spending time with her family. Millie enjoyed baking with her grandchildren and her holiday bread was a family favorite.

Millie is survived by her son, Robert Lauer and his wife, Linda, of Naugatuck; her loving grandchildren, Kristin Pronovost and her husband, John, of Woodbury, and Mark Lauer and his wife, Erica, of Orange. Millie also leaves her cherished great-grandchildren, Austin and Logan Pronovost and Olivia and Nathan Lauer; her sister, Lorraine Anasovich of Naugatuck. She was predeceased by her sister, Bertha Barth, and her brother, William Phillips. Millie also leaves a stepson, William Lauer and his wife, Gae, of Montana, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at a memorial service at Christ Episcopal Church, 2030 East Main St., Waterbury, on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck, and there are no calling hours.
