NAUGATUCK — St. Michael’s Episcopal Church’s prayers were answered last week when a Plantsville-based company stepped forward to deliver donations to aid victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

Over Labor Day weekend, the church and Surreybrook School in Seymour collected diapers, pull-ups, wipes, formula, breast pumps and other baby items to donate to the Texas Diaper Bank. Hynes Construction of Seymour originally planned to ship a few boxes down, but they collected many more items than expected, leaving the church with no way to get the donations to Texas.

Last week, organizers of the donation drive put out a call for help, and K&M Fire Protection of Plantsville answered. The company offered to cover the costs of renting a truck as well as drive the donations to the Texas Diaper Bank, according to organizers of the drive.
