Obituary: Mary (Bartelli) Coppola

SEYMOUR — Mary (Bartelli) Coppola, 97, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning Aug. 6, 2017, at the Glendale Center in Naugatuck. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Vincent James Coppola.

Mrs. Coppola was born in Naugatuck on Feb. 19, 1920. A resident of Seymour since 1956, she was employed at Uniroyal in Naugatuck until her retirement. Mary was the happiest when she was with her family who loved her dearly. Her passion for cooking not only delighted all of her family, but brought them together to create cherished memories.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Marianne Kipnes and husband, Jack, Lois Garrigan and husband, James, of Naugatuck, honored daughter, Eugenia Birdsell and husband, Michael of Milton, Del.; cherished grandchildren, George Jr. and Thomas Molner, Patrick, Brian and Elizabeth Garrigan, Ethan and Jessica Kipnes; seven great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Eugene Coppola and wife, Adeline, of Seymour; sister-in-law, Beatrice Coppola of Seymour, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Molner.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Spinelli-Ricciuti/Bednar-Osiecki Funeral Home, 62 Beaver St., Ansonia. On Friday, relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 10 a.m. directly at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive, Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Inurnment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
