BEACON FALLS — The town was among 11 communities awarded $11.5 million in federal housing grants distributed through the state government.
Beacon Falls received a $400,000 grant to continue its Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program to help low and moderate-income homeowners rehabilitate their homes.
Ten homes are anticipated to be rehabilitated. Upgrades will include roof replacement, heating systems, window replacement, lead paint and asbestos removal, electrical and code upgrades.
The funding comes from a federal program that targets small towns with populations below 50,000 residents.
