NAUGATUCK — American Legion Post 17 will be honoring Vietnam-era veterans with a pin ceremony at the Naugatuck Summerfest on Aug. 12.
The pins are part of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, a commemoration authorized by Congress to recognize the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and honor Vietnam-era veterans who served from Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975. Post 17 is a commemorative partner of the organization.
Any veteran from this era is invited to attend the ceremony and get a pin. Interested veterans can call the American Legion at 203-729-3948 to register for the ceremony. Leave a message if no one answers the phone. Applicants must provide proof of service to qualify.
