William F. Gavrish

BEACON FALLS — William F. Gavrish, 53, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Griffin Hospital in Derby with his family at his side.

He was born in Waterbury on August 19, 1963, son of William J. Gavrish of Seymour and the late Kathryn L. (Gilroy) Gavrish. A lifelong resident of Beacon Falls, Bill graduated from Holy Cross High School. He was a self-employed contractor and enjoyed woodworking, building, and was an avid car enthusiast. Bill was a certified EMT and proudly volunteered for many years with Beacon Hose Company No. 1.

Besides his father, William leaves his daughter, Samantha “Sunshine” Johnson of Beacon Falls; his brother, Joseph Gavrish and his wife, Stefanie, of Stratford; his sister, Marianne Boroski and her husband, Henry, of Seymour; his lifelong companion and best friend, Terry Madgic of Beacon Falls. He was the favorite “fun” uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Family and friends may visit with the family on Saturday June 10, 2017 directly at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
