NAUGATUCK — The borough is preparing to light up the sky with a “bigger and better” fireworks show.

Naugatuck is holding its Fourth of July celebration on July 3 with a festival and fireworks on Old Firehouse Road. The festival starts at 6 p.m. and the fireworks shows is set to begin at 9:15 p.m. The rain date is July 5.

The festival will include vendors, entertainment, food and family-oriented activities.

Mayor N. Warren “Pete” Hess said the fireworks show will be “bigger and better” than last year and will last between 30 and 35 minutes.

The fireworks will be shot off from Breen Field once again this year.

Hess said the best place to see the fireworks will be along Old Firehouse Road. However, any place with a view of the downtown should be able to see the fireworks, he said.

Hess said parking will be available around the borough, but not on Old Firehouse Road.
