Police investigating car break-in

PROSPECT — A woman’s car was broken into on Sunday at Hotchkiss Park.

Police reported the locked car was parked at the park on Waterbury Road for about two hours. When a woman returned to the car, police said, the rear window on the passenger side was smashed and items were stolen from inside.

Police said the woman’s pocket book, which contained a wallet, credit cards, a debit card and Social Security cards, along with a Galaxy 7 cellphone were stolen. The incident was reported at about 4 p.m. There were no witnesses, police said.
