NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Kathleen Ash, 72, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Providence VA Medical Center.

Kathleen was born on Dec. 21, 1944 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary A. (Allen) Ash, and had lived in Rhode Island for the past 50 years. Kathleen was a U.S. Navy Vietnam War Veteran and a former business owner in Rhode Island.

Kathleen is survived by her sisters, Ann Pugliese and her husband, Charlie, and Margaret “Peggy” Styfco and her husband, Bob; her brother, Edward J. Ash, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends in Rhode Island. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her brother, Francis Ash.

Visitation is Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Springs Ave., North Providence, R.I., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence, R.I. Burial with military honors will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, R.I. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck, Conn. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, Conn.
