NAUGATUCK — The state Bond Commission last week approved $23,928 to reimburse the Naugatuck Police Department for body cameras worn by officers.

The funds will cover the money the department spent on the body cameras purchased from 2012 through now. The department was one of 11 around the state approved for the reimbursement.

Deputy Police Chief Joshua Bernegger said he wasn’t sure when the commission will release the funds to the department.
