PROSPECT — The pumpkins are back in town.

The Pumpkin Patch at St. Anthony Church opens Saturday and runs through Oct. 31 at the church, 4 Union City Road. The Pumpkin Patch is open weekdays from 3 to 6 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The pumpkins will arrive on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The church is seeking volunteers to help unload the pumpkins and set up for Saturday. There will be free pizza and a drawing for a gift card for volunteers. The church is also seeking volunteers to help while the patch is open.

Aside from picking out pumpkins, the Pumpkin Patch will feature a host of activities on the weekends, including games, hay rides, a burlap maze, face painting and pumpkin painting. The patch also features live entertainment and demonstrations, including a performance by the Woodland Drama Club on Oct. 8, a DJ on Oct. 15, and a demonstration by Rancho Floclorico Recordacoes de, a Portuguese folklore dance group, on Oct. 16.

The proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch support the church’s HOPE Ministry, which assists people in need with financial, educational, practical and spiritual guidance.
