PROSPECT — Work on the $2 million project second phase of the reconstruction on Scott Road was completed in August.

In the second phase of the three-part project, workers reconstructed and paved 3,000 feet of road from Maria Hotchkiss Road to Nicholas Court. The paving was completed earlier this year, but the town still had a checklist of items that needed to be finished before the work was complete, Mayor Robert Chatfield said. This worked included installing 150 feel of metal railing along the road near Williams Drive and painting the lines on the road.

The state Department of Transportation project is funded 20 percent by the state and 80 percent by the federal government. The town was responsible for the engineering costs.

The third phase of the project, to pave the road down to Route 69, is still a few years out.
