BEACON FALLS — Aurelia Irene Bowen, 99, of Beacon Falls, formerly of Munhall, Pa., the beloved wife of the late James W. Bowen, entered into rest peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at her home. She was born in New Castle, Pa., on July 13, 1916, loving daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Coman Moran.

Irene was a retired department manager for the former W.T. Grant Company of Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Homestead Park United Methodist Church of Homestead, Pa. Irene was a member and past matron of Homestead Chapter 139 Order of the Eastern Star and a 60-year member of the Mizpah Shrine of White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was resident of Beacon Falls for the last 20 years. Irene will be sadly missed by her family and friends and will remain forever in their hearts.

Her loving family includes her cherished daughter-in-law, Leona Bowen of Beacon Falls with whom she resided; her brother, Peter Moran of Toledo, Ohio; her sister, Valerie Miller and her husband Thurman of Canton, Ohio; four cherished grandchildren, Cindy Lee Childs of Seymour, Richard Bowen of Collinsville, William Bowen of Beacon Falls and Kim Allen Bowen of Trumbull; 11 cherished great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews, and a dear friend Barry Sexton. She was predeceased by her beloved son, James H. Bowen; her beloved grandson, James E. Bowen; and her five loving brothers, John Moran, Nicholas Moran, Zack Moran, Howard Moran and Frank Moran.

A Funeral Service in Celebration of Irene’s Life will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 6 p.m. at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour with the Rev. James Midgley, Pastor of the Seymour United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 p.m. until the start of the service at 6 p.m. Entombment will be in the Jefferson Memorial Park Mausoleum of Pittsburgh, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Irene’s memory may be made to The Beacon Hose Company of Beacon Falls through the funeral home.
