Man faces assault charge after stabbing incident

PROSPECT — A Prospect man is free on $100,000 bond to face charges of first-degree assault after a stabbing incident Saturday at a Prospect home.

Anthony Magnano, 21, of 47 Woodcrest Drive, Prospect, also faces charges of second-degree breach of peace and first-degree reckless endangerment when he appears June 1 in Waterbury Superior Court.

State police said troopers from the Prospect Resident State Troopers Office and from Troop I, Bethany, responded to a reported stabbing at a home on Woodcrest Drive at about 5 p.m. Saturday. The Central District Major Crime Squad also responded and took over the investigation, arresting Magnano without incident at his home.

One male victim suffered injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening and was taken to a hospital, according police.
