NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce is seeking area nonprofit organizations to sell raffle tickets for the 11th annual Duck Day and Race.

The event is June 5 in downtown Naugatuck and culminates with the annual duck race, which features over 15,000 rubber ducks dumped by a pay-loader from the Whittemore Bridge to race down the Naugatuck River. The first 26 ducks to win cross the finish line win prizes for their ticket holders. The grand prize is $5,000.

There is no fee for organizations to participate, and the chamber will donate $2.50 back to the charitable organization for each ticket sold by the organization. Over the past ten years, more than 150 organizations have received over $300,000 back from their participation in the Duck Day and Duck Race, a press release stated.

Organizations can get an application form to reserve raffle tickets online at www.duckday.com, by calling the chamber at 203-757-0701 or via email at aamato@waterburychamber.com. Completed application forms can be faxed to 203-756-3507, or mailed to the Naugatuck Chamber, 270 Church St., Naugatuck, CT 06770.
