NAUGATUCK — Lucille Mezzio, 82 of Naugatuck, the wife of Vincent “Jim” Mezzio, died peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Waterbury Hospital.

Lucille was born on August 13, 1933 in Wilkes Barre, Pa., a daughter of the late William and Helen (Stenitis) Krasinsky, and had lived in Naugatuck for most of her life. Lucille was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and aunt. Lucille was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching tennis, UConn womens basketball and the New York Mets.

In addition to her husband Jim, Lucille is survived by her son, John Mezzio and his partner Scott Jackson of Florida; her brother, William Krasinsky; and her sister, Jean DeFilio both of Waterbury; her beloved niece, Sally Cyr and her husband Joe Cyr of Naugatuck, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her brother, Robert Krasinsky.

Lucille’s family would like to sincerely thank the staff at DaVita Dialysis Center in Waterbury for the wonderful care that they provided.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Road, Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
