NAUGATUCK — Four residents of Lantern Park Condominiums were displaced from their home after a fire Saturday morning.

The fire began in the basement of Building 85, Unit 6 in front of the dryer, Fire Capt. Jason Alford said. Firefighters responded at 11:16 a.m. and were able to keep the fire from spreading to other floors.

Firefighters extinguished the fire within 20 minutes, Alford said, though firefighters remained on scene until 3:30 p.m. Four residents, who comprise one family, had evacuated by the time firefighters arrived. No one was injured, and no other units were evacuated.

The family has been temporarily displaced from their condo due to smoke and water damage, and electrical issues, Alford said. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
