Standoff ends with hospital trip

PROSPECT — Police responded to Summit Road for a report of a disturbance Wednesday afternoon and found a person barricaded in a home.

State troopers, K9 teams and the Emergency Services Unit responded to 159 Summit Road at about 1:40 p.m. State police said the situation was resolved by 3:40 p.m. The person was taken into state police custody and taken to a hospital.

Summit Road at Plank Road was closed for several hours. The incident was still under investigation as of Wednesday night.

The person’s name was not released as of Thursday morning.

No report was filed at Troop I in Bethany or available through the Connecticut State Police Public Information Office as of Thursday morning. Prospect Resident State Trooper Matt Comeau and Administrative Lt. Nelson Abarzua could not be reached for comment Thursday morning.
