NAUGATUCK — A Subway restaurant on New Haven Road was robbed twice in a four-day span.

The first robbery at the sandwich shop at 1183 New Haven Road occurred Friday at about 9 p.m. The Subway was robbed again on Tuesday at about 9:30 p.m.

A lone male suspect robbed the store in both cases. No weapon was displayed or verbally threatened to be used in either robbery, police spokesman Lt. Bryan Cammarata. On Tuesday, Cammarata said, the suspect implied that he had a weapon by keeping his hand in his pocket, though he didn’t say he had one.

No employees or customers were injured during the robberies, Cammarata said.

The robberies remain under investigation and no further details were available. Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to contact the Naugatuck Police Department at 203-729-5221 or call the confidential tip line at 203-720-1010.
