NAUGATUCK — Teresa Santa Barbara, 95, the widow of Nicholas Joseph Santa Barbara, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 27, 2016 in the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital.

Teresa was born on Dec. 28, 1920 in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late Felix and Mary (Jaconelli) Errico, and had been a lifelong Naugatuck resident. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a faithful parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Teresa is survived by her daughter, Linda Kiernan and her husband Tom Kiernan of Naugatuck; her daughter, Paula Pascal and her husband George Pascal of Kentucky; her daughter, Karen Santa Barbara-Vogel and Wayne Vogel of Rhode Island; her grandchildren, Kyle Kiernan, Nicole Kiernan-Holley, Michael Stinson, Mark Gracy, Maureen Ottinger, Sara Smolenski, Daniel Vogel and Paige Vogel; her great-granddaughters, Victoria and Lily, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband and her parents, Teresa was predeceased by her daughter, Gail Gracy, and all of her brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Everyone attending Mass is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.

In lieu of flowers to honor Teresa’s memory, contributions can be made to the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, 56 Franklin St., Waterbury, CT 06706.
