NAUGATUCK — Joseph E. “Skip” King, age 81, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital on Sunday March 20, 2016. He was husband of the late Beverly A. (Balser) King.

Mr. King was born in Waterbury on Oct. 16, 1934, son of the late Joseph C. and Mary Margaret (Luxemberger) King. A lifelong Naugatuck resident, he retired from Farrell Corporation after many years of service, and belonged to the Old Timers Club at the company. Joe was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany. He volunteered at Brooksvale Farm in Cheshire and the Cheshire Greenway, where he was instrumental as part of the Lock 12 Museum. Joe was a CB radio enthusiast, history buff, and he loved the outdoors.

Joe is survived by his sons, Arthur King of Waterbury and Matthew King of Naugatuck; his daughters, Joanne King and Kathleen Calabro, both of Naugatuck, and Cynthia Telesca of Prospect; his grandchildren, Adam and Zachary Telesca, and Jaime J. Lloret. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph King.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 24 2016 at 11a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Members of the Naugatuck Veterans Council are asked to meet on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
