BEACON FALLS — Joan Uhelsky, 83, of Beacon Falls, the beloved wife of Stephen Uhelsky, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Hewitt Health & Rehabilitation Center, Shelton. She was born in Waterbury on March 22, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Ann Christinat and her stepfather the late Harry Scheithe.

Joan was a registered nurse, who worked for several area hospitals for more than 50 years. She loved to knit and crochet, garden and cook. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and many friends. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandson. Joan will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.

In addition to her husband Stephen, Joan’s family includes her two loving daughters, Mary Ann Grande of Derby and Susan Uhelsky of Seymour; three caring grandchildren, Michelle Peluso and her husband Joseph, Michael Trimarchi, III and Rachel Trimarchi; her cherished great-grandson, Carter Richard Peluso, and several loving friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Richard Grande.

A Funeral Service in Celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., (Route 67 across from Klarides Village), Seymour, with Reverend Leonard Kvedas, Pastor of St. Michael R.C. Church officiating. Interment in the family plot will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until the start of the service at 9:30 a.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to The Griffin Hospital Development Fund through the funeral home.
