Police seek car theft suspects

NAUGATUCK — Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two suspects who stole a car Monday night.

Police said the car was stolen at about midnight from 320 Scott St. A neighbor told the car’s owner that he saw two people pushing the car down the street, according to police.

The car was found by officers left on the corner of Scott Street and Andrew Avenue. The first officers to arrive on the scene saw two suspects run from the car. A police canine was brought in to try to track the suspects, but the track was unsuccessful.

The suspects were described by witnesses as men with thin builds between the ages of 19 and 24. One suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. The other, who was described as about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head and long pants.
