NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Armanda “Amy” (Monteiro) Rodriguez, 63, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 in the VITAS Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Joe Rodriguez.

Mrs. Rodriguez was born on April 27, 1952 in San Juliao, Chaves, Portugal, a daughter of the late Armando and Alice (Texeira) Monteiro. She was a graduate and valedictorian of the Crosby High School Class of 1970, was retired as an office manager from Montagno Construction Company, and a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury. She was also a former employee of Fleisher Finishing and worked at the Portuguese Consulate in Naugatuck.

Mrs. Rodriguez enjoyed cooking, knitting, travel, going to the beach, reading, listening to jazz, attending music festivals and visiting vineyards in Connecticut. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, and hosting parties at her home every Fourth of July.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rodriguez is survived by a son, Mark Rodriguez and his wife Wendie of Wolcott; two sisters, Lucilia Moreira and her husband Norman of Naugatuck, and Natercia Santos and her husband Alberto of Naugatuck; a brother, Flavio Monteiro and his wife Adela of Wolcott; a grandson, Ethan Rodriguez and several very special nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect.
