NAUGATUCK — Jeanne (Zehnder) Fruin, 88, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Unit on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016. She was widow of John C. Fruin, Sr.

Mrs. Fruin was born on March 28, 1927, daughter of the late Rose (Zehnder) Metcalf. A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, she graduated from Naugatuck High School, and she retired form Lewis Engineering after many years of service. Jeanne loved music, dancing, and singing and was a member of the Kollege Kapers and Footlighters for many years. She had a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew her.

She will be sadly missed but not forgotten by her son, Gary Fruin, his wife Camille and granddaughter, Delaney of Santa Barbara, Calif.; her daughter-in-law, Francine Fruin of Naugatuck and grandchildren Kathleen Fruin Russo of Sarasota, Fla., Kelly Fruin and John Fruin, III of Naugatuck; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hannah, Mathew and Renee Russo, Kassandra Fruin, Naomi and Adam Haywood; her sister, Carol Butkevicius of South Carolina; her brother, William Metcalf of Califonia, and a few very close cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fruin was predeceased by her son, John C. Fruin, Jr.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Mary’s Church, 338 North Main St., Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
