NAUGATUCK — City Hill Middle School has received a grant to help students experience the arts.

The Board of Education voted on Jan. 14 to accept a $25,000 grant from the Dalio Foundation, Inc.

According to the foundation, the grant was given to the Naugatuck Public School District in order to allow City Hill students to take art-related field trips.

“The Dalio Foundation is pleased to make the grant in the amount of $25,000, payable to the Naugatuck Public Schools restricted to the City Hill Middle School’s initiative to increase student engagement through enrichment activities and educational learning expeditions during this academic school year,” the foundation wrote in a letter to Superintendent of Schools Sharon Locke.

Locke said the foundation came to visit the middle school in the fall and donated the money so the students would be able to have experience that will “enrich them through the arts.”
