NAUGATUCK — Phyllis Muriel Belanger, 91, the widow of Harold “Bud” Belanger, passed away peacefully Dec. 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was born on Oct. 17, 1924 in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late Philip Charles and Ella (Sheehan) Behlman and was a lifelong resident. Phyllis was a former director of the Naugatuck Day Care Center; she was a member of the Naugatuck Woman’s Club and was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She enjoyed traveling and exercising at the Naugatuck YMCA, where she was a longtime member.
Phyllis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Denise Belanger; her daughter, Nicole Belanger of Naugatuck; her grandchildren, Tracie Belanger, Rachel Haun and her husband Josh Haun, Cody Michael Belanger and Cassidy Mae Belanger and her sister-in-law, Margaret Behlman of Florida. Phyllis was predeceased by her brothers, Leroy Behlman and William Behlman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m.
