NAUGATUCK — Police seized a plethora of drugs, cash and arrested two residents after executing a warrant at a home on Windsor Place last week.

Borough police executed a search and seizure warrant Dec. 16 at 16 Windsor Place shortly before 12 p.m. with the help of an officer and narcotics dog from the Orange Police Department.

Police seized $3,670 in cash, 29 grams of cocaine, 160.5 grams of marijuana, 90 Xanax pills, 6.5 Oxycontin pills, and four tabs of LSD during the raid, according to a press release. Police also seized drug paraphernalia, a facsimile firearm, a machete and a safe from the home.

Brandon Hornby, 19, and his mother, 37-year-old Joy Hornby, both of 16 Windsor Place, were arrested.

Police charged Brandon Hornby with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana in a school zone, distribution of controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory, narcotics kept only in original container, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of LSD, possession of LSD with intent to sell and risk of injury to a child.

He was initially held on a $200,000 surety bond and appeared at Waterbury Superior Court on Dec. 17. According to online judicial records, his bond was reduced to $50,000 and he was still being held as of Monday. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Jan. 6.

Police charged Joy Hornby with risk of injury to a child, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and non-student in possession of drugs near a school. She was initially held on a $100,000 bond and appeared in court Dec. 17. She was released on a promise to appear after appearing in court and her case was continued to Jan. 6, according to online judicial records.

Joy Hornby’s 9-year-old son lives in the house. The child has autism and police executed the warrant during the day to ensure the child wouldn’t be home, the release said. A representative from the Department of Children and Families was on the scene during the incident to manage the situation regarding the child, police said.

Police began their investigation after learning that Brandon Hornby was selling drugs in and around the residence, and also at Maple Hill Elementary School, which is nearby, police said.

The case remains under investigation.
