PROSPECT — Jeanne T. Ferrari, 88, the widow of Lawrence “Larry” Ferrari, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanne was born on Jan. 13, 1927 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Edward and Ruth (Farr) Truelove. Jeanne lived in Prospect for the past four years, after having lived most of her life in Wolcott. Jeanne loved her family and they were always number one in her life. Jeanne was an avid Yankees fan, and she also enjoyed her Friday girl’s night out, bingo and trips to the casino.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Tom Smith of Waterbury; her daughter, Linda Barbieri and her husband John Barbieri of Prospect; her granddaughter, Amber Barbieri; her grandson, Johnny Barbieri and his girlfriend Ashley; her sister, Nancy Kelchner of Pennsylvania; her sister-in-law, Lucille Ferrari of Thomaston; several nieces and nephews; her special bingo friends and her friend Lydia Jamele. In addition to her husband Larry, Jeanne was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Ferrari and her son, Larry Ferrari.

Jeanne’s family would like to thank the VITAS Hospice Care staff for the wonderful care they provided, especially Donna, Marylin and Jeanne.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Wolcott Congregational Church, 185 Center St., Wolcott. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Boundline Road, Wolcott. There are no calling hours and arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
