NAUGATUCK — Philip Sousa, 62, husband of Susan (Stevens) Sousa, passed away on Monday Oct. 5, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital.

Mr. Sousa was born in Waterbury, on Feb. 28, 1953, son of the late Antone and Mary Elizabeth (Elliott) Sousa. A longtime local resident, he was the co-owner of J&A Waterville Oil Service in Naugatuck for many years. Phil was a very hard worker, who enjoyed playing golf, and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. He was an active member of OESP Professionals. He was a wonderful, supportive and caring man, who will be sadly missed.

Besides his beloved wife Susan, Philip is survived by his children, David R. Sousa and his wife, Jacquelynn, of Prospect and Elizabeth A. Sousa of New York City and her fiancé, Paul Fazzino; his sister, Mary Woods and her husband, James, of Wallingford; his stepmother, Geraldine Turner and her husband, Charles, of Port Orange, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Eric Sousa and his wife, Wendy, of Wolcott and Stephen Sousa and his wife, Robin, of Bethany; his granddaughter, Chandler Sousa; his brother-in-law, Robert Stevens and his wife, June; his mother-in-law, Anne Stevens, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will held on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial will be private.
