NAUGATUCK — Maria Cecilia Correia, 75, beloved wife of Antonio Correia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS unit.
Mrs. Correia was born in Salreu, Portugal on Jan. 9, 1940, daughter of the late Antonio Marques Malicia and Anna (DeJesus) Malicia. She emigrated from Portugal in 1973 and settled in Naugatuck. Maria retired from Century Brass and had also worked at Naugatuck Glass. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Besides her husband Antonio of 54 years, Maria is survived by her daughters, Maria (Correia) Rodrigues and her husband, John, of Southbury and Margaret (Correia) DaSilva and her husband, Frank, of Naugatuck; her five grandchildren, Brian Rodrigues and his wife, Lauren, (Burleson) Rodrigues, Thomas DaSilva and his wife, Sherri, (Graby) DaSilva and their son, Ezekiel Thomas DaSilva, Katherine (DaSilva) Rossi and her husband, Louis Rossi III, Jessica Rodrigues and Daniel Rodrigues; five siblings of Portugal, and several nieces and nephews.
All services will be private. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
