PROSPECT — The Charter Revision Commission will host its first discussion on potential changes next week.

The commission will meet Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall. The commission is seeking comments and ideas from the public on revisions. The commission will also schedule a series of formal and informal sessions at the meeting, all of which will be open to the public.

The Town Council approved forming a Charter Revision Commission in September. At its subsequent organizational meeting, the commission elected Glenn Gruber and Phil Reed as chair and vice chair, respectively.

The town hasn’t had a Charter Revision Commission since 2000. Before that, a commission last reviewed the Charter in 1987. Much of the Charter’s language dates back to its creation in 1967.
