OXFORD — Susan Jean (DiClementi) Samuelman, 56, of Oxford, died on Aug. 27, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband, David Samuelman; her daughter, Sara (Samuelman) Walsh and son-in-law Brian Walsh of Shelton; her son, David Samuelman Jr of Oxford, and her parents Dominic and Jean DiClementi of Beacon Falls. She also leaves her sister Sandy (Robert) Hokunson of Seymour; brother, Peter (Sandra) DiClementi of Wolcott, and sister Donna Tosches of Collierville, Tenn., along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, she was loved by her devoted dog, Ace.

Susan graduated from Seymour High School and Mattatuck Community College. She worked for many years at Merit Properties and then at CM Property Management as a bookkeeper. She also managed her own bookkeeping business. Susan was also an avid member of the Oxford High School Quarterback Club.

Although Susan lived with breast cancer for 15 years, it is not the cancer that people will remember about Susan but the way that she lived her life with courage, determination and strength that defied all odds. Susan was and will always be our hero.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St. Jude’s children’s hospital or the ASPCA.

Calling Hours are Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
