NAUGATUCK — Rosemary E. (Coen) Neary, 85, widow of Francis P. Neary, took the hand of the Lord to eternal peace on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital VITAS Unit surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Neary was born in Waterbury, on May 28, 1930, daughter of the late James and Florence (Hotchkiss) Coen. A longtime Naugatuck resident, she graduated from Sacred Heart High School and retired from Donham Craft Inc. after many years of service. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, where she was a member of the Altar Society and past president of the Columbiettes. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Richard J. Neary and his wife, Margie, and Colleen Cherhoniak and her husband, Andrew, all of Naugatuck; her daughter-in-law Wendi Neary of White Plains, Md.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Gunnery Sgt. Patrick F. Neary, and her sister, Frances Coen.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at 9 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Mary’s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
