NAUGATUCK — Mr. Pasquale “Pat” G. Sasso, Jr., 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015 at his home. He was the loving husband of Pamela (Hagy) Sasso.

Mr. Sasso was born on Dec. 16, 1943 in Waterbury, son of the late Pasquale and Nancy (Leone) Sasso, Sr. Pat was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and received his associates degree from New Haven College. He worked as a design engineer for Raymond Engineering for over 25 years until his retirement, and after retiring, enjoyed doing carpentry work. An avid hunter and fisherman, Pat was the past secretary of the Woodbury Southbury Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Lake Quassapaug Fishing Club. He belonged to the CT Chapter of the Multiple Myeloma Support Group. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed his time spent in Vermont with his family.

In addition to Pamela, his wife of 48 years, Pat is survived his son, Marc D. Sasso and his wife, Leslie Ann, of Prospect; his daughter, Catherine Sasso-Billings and her husband, Benjamin, of Naugatuck; his four grandchildren, Nicholas Sasso, Hannah Billings, Vincent Sasso and Anthony Sasso. He also leaves his brother, John Sasso and his wife, Mary, of Springfield, Vt.; his sisters, Marguerite Temporale of Milford and Nancy Paternoster and her husband, Michael, of Thomaston, and his uncle, Francis Leone of Waterbury as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Barbara Sasso and Rosemary Brilsky.

Pat’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Smilow Cancer Center, Waterbury Hospital Pomeroy 7, and VITAS Hospice for their outstanding and compassionate care shown to him.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at 9 a.m. from Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to St. Mary’s Church in Union City for a Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
