NAUGATUCK — Frances Jacewicz, 98, widow of Joseph Jacewicz, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at Beacon Brook Health Center.
Mrs. Jacewicz was born in Milford, on July 2, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Gabryzewski) Petro. She was a longtime Naugatuck resident and was a graduate of Ansonia High School. She was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church.
Frances is survived by her son, James J. Jacewicz and his wife, Carol, of Colchester; her three sisters, Jane Kuzas of Southbury, Paula Novakowski of Niantic, and Margaret Petro of Oakdale, N.Y.; her three grandchildren, Kimberly Capel and her husband, Patrick, Thomas Jacewicz, and James Jacewicz Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Mark and Carolyn Capel; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas J. Jacewicz; her two brothers, John and Stanley Petro; and sisters, Cecelia Moran, Mabel Dural, Alice Wynnick, and Sophie Dutra.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Vincent Ferrer Church, Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
