BEACON FALLS — The Parks and Recreation Commission is teaming up with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in town to spruce up the medians along Main Street.

The scouts will be planting flowers and cleaning up the medians on June 6 from 8 to 11 a.m., Parks and Recreation Commission Chairman Steve Ruhl said. The southbound lane of the road from Route 42 to the firehouse will be closed during this time, he said.

June 6 was chosen because it’s close to the anniversary of when the town was incorporated, which was June 1, 1871, added Ruhl, who is also the town historian.

Ruhl said anyone who wants to come down and help is welcome to join.
