NAUGATUCK — Mr. John E. Cook, 92, of Naugatuck passed away peacefully Thursday, May 7, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Janice (Bower) Cook.

Mr. Cook was born in Reading, Pa., on Oct. 22, 1922 to the late William and Verna (Buck) Cook. He graduated from Wilson H.S. in Reading, Pa.

After high school Mr. Cook entered the Army Air Corp, during WWII and served proudly. He was a member of the Army Air Corp Band entertaining troops throughout the United States.

Mr. Cook loved being a musician, reading and listening to Jazz.

Besides his wife, Mr. Cook is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Cook and son, Jason Cook; granddaughters, Lauren and Alicia; and grandson, Zachary. He also leaves behind two brothers, William Cook Jr. and his wife, Irene, and Donald Cook and his wife, Darlene, of Pennsylvania as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cook was predeceased by his daughter, Suzanne Marie Cook, also of Pennsylvania.

All services will be private and at the convenience of the family per Mr. Cook’s wishes. The Prospect memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect has been entrusted with Mr. Cook’s arrangements.
