Obituary: Malinda M. (Weiss) Mable

WATERBURY — Mrs. Malinda M. (Weiss) Mable, 77, of Waterbury died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Theodore E. Mable.

Mrs. Mable was born in Stamford on July 23, 1937 a daughter of the late Charles A. and Beatrice H. (Miller) Weiss. She formerly worked as a dietary aide at the Glendale Center in Naugatuck and also ran the Thrift Shop at the United Methodist Church in Naugatuck for many years. She was a member of the Watertown United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Mable was a member of the Bethlehem Grange, a member of the Naugatuck Junior Womens Club, was a Girl Scout leader for many years and volunteered for many years at Easter Seals.

Mrs. Mable is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Johnstone and her husband, Raymond, of Oakville and Debbie Gerrity and her husband, Bill, of Naugatuck; a sister, Johanna Weiss of New Milford; five grandchildren, Raymond, April and Eva Gerrity and Cassandra and Ryan Johnstone and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Viola Weiss, and two brothers, Gerard and Joseph Weiss.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery in Naugatuck at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m.
