MIDDLEBURY — Richard M. Bioski, 72, husband of Helen (Hendzel) Bioski, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Bioski was born in Waterbury on Nov. 18, 1942, son of the late Joseph and Lena (Wolski) Bioski. A lifelong resident of Middlebury, he retired from Lewis Engineering after many years of service as a toolmaker. Richard was a member of the Naugatuck Elks Lodge, Polish American Club, Connecticut Antique Machinery Club and New Hampshire Antique Tractor Club. He was a communicant of St. John of the Cross Church.

Besides his loving wife of 43 years, he leaves his two daughters, Joan Kirdzik of Bristol and Karen Bioski-Simon of San Francisco, Calif.; his four grandchildren, Erica-Jo and Casey-Lee Kirdzik and Cooper and Mabel Simon; his great-granddaughter, Cora-Lee Carroll; several nieces and nephews and many childhood friends, all whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Joseph Bioski.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private in Middlebury Cemetery.
