NAUGATUCK — Henry A. “Fred” Loman, 86, passed away on Thursday, Jan.15, 2015 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Florence M. (Polonis) Loman.

Mr. Loman was born in Union City on March 26, 1928, son of the late Anthony and Stella (Piotrowski) Loman. A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, he retired from the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. after many years of service. Fred was an avid golfer, playing at many local golf courses. He was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest 65, Pequabuck Country Club in Bristol and had also worked at the Country Club of Waterbury. He enjoyed gardening and his many trips to Saratoga and casinos. He was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Henry is survived by his two daughters, Patrice Hanley and her husband Bill of Naugatuck, and Pamela Loman of Bristol; his two grandsons, Sean and Michael Hanley; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister and four brothers.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Hedwig Church, 32 Golden Hill St., Naugatuck, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30a.m.
