Mr. and Mrs. Rene and Birgitta Henst of Cheshire announce the engagement of their daughter, Sonja Henst, to Joshua McClelland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim and Vicki McClelland of Naugatuck.
A May 15, 2015 wedding is planned.
Mr. McClelland is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William and Sandra Dean of Bethany and the late John and Lousie McClelland.
Miss Henst graduated from Cheshire High School and is studying special education at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. She is an educational assistant for Ben Haven School in Wallingford.
Mr. McClelland graduated from Westwoods Christian Academy in Hamden and from Eastern University in Wayne, Pa., with a degree in communications. He is a police officer for the Cheshire Police Department.
